Service · Service Design

Design services that work end to end.

We design and blueprint services that connect the customer-facing experience to the people, processes and systems that deliver it — so good intentions survive contact with reality.

01 — Overview

What is service design?

Service design is the craft of planning and organizing a service — its touchpoints, people, processes and infrastructure — so it delivers a consistent, high-quality experience.

Where journey mapping shows what the customer experiences, service blueprinting shows everything behind the scenes that makes it possible. We design both, then make them real with your teams.

Most experience failures are not front-of-house problems — they are design and process gaps behind the scenes.

02What's Included

What a service design engagement delivers

Each engagement produces working artefacts your teams can act on — not slide decks that age in a drawer. Here is what we build together.

Frontstage-to-backstage blueprints that expose every actor, system and hand-off.

End-to-end journeys mapped with real customer evidence and emotion.

Streamlined operations that remove friction and rework.

Service prototypes tested with users before costly build.

Service standards your teams can actually follow and sustain.

03Our Approach

How we design services that hold together

1

Discover

We assess your maturity, research the people involved and pinpoint the highest-impact opportunities.

2

Design

We craft the strategy and interventions, grounded in evidence and validated with real users.

3

Deliver

We implement alongside your teams, with quick wins and knowledge transfer along the way.

4

Sustain

We embed governance, measurement and tools so the gains compound over time.

04Outcomes

What you can expect.

1

Measurable impact

Every engagement ties to business metrics — not vanity scores.

2

Capability you keep

07 — Why It Matters

Why service design matters.

Customers experience services as a single, continuous journey. Organizations deliver them through siloed teams and systems. Service design bridges that gap.

By blueprinting the entire service — not just the interface — you find the broken hand-offs, duplicated effort and missing ownership that quietly erode experience. Fixing them lifts quality and lowers cost at the same time.

We pair service design with behavioral economics so the experiences you design are not only operationally sound, but psychologically compelling.

08FAQ

Service Design — Frequently Asked Questions

CX is the overall perception a customer has; service design is the discipline of designing the underlying service — touchpoints, processes and systems — that produces that experience.

A service blueprint is a map that shows the customer journey alongside the frontstage actions, backstage actions and support processes that deliver it — making the whole system visible.

Whenever you are launching a new service, fixing inconsistent quality, or scaling an experience across channels and teams.

We do both — we design with you and implement alongside your teams, leaving standards and playbooks so the service keeps working.

Service design plans the entire service — people, processes, technology and physical environment — so every touchpoint works together. UX design focuses on a user's interaction with a specific interface. Service design is the broader discipline that makes UX promises operationally deliverable, from the customer's first contact to the back-office actions no customer ever sees.

A service blueprint is a structured diagram that maps the customer journey alongside every backstage process, system and team responsible for delivering it. It exposes broken hand-offs, unclear ownership and duplicated effort that journey maps alone cannot reveal. Most organizations find their biggest quality and cost problems hiding precisely in those gaps.

Scope determines timeline. A focused service blueprint for a single product or channel can be completed in four to six weeks. An end-to-end redesign across multiple touchpoints and departments typically runs three to five months, including co-design workshops, prototyping and implementation planning. We scope every engagement before committing to a timeline.

Service design works at any scale. We can diagnose and redesign a single problematic touchpoint — a renewal journey, a complaints process, an onboarding flow — without overhauling the entire service. That said, blueprinting even a narrow scope often surfaces upstream or downstream issues worth addressing, and we will flag them honestly.

Operational soundness is necessary but not sufficient. We apply behavioral economics — principles such as the Peak-End Rule and friction reduction — to ensure the service is also psychologically compelling. That means designing the moments customers remember most, reducing effort at high-stakes steps, and structuring choices so the right outcome is also the easiest one.

Internal teams know the organization; we know where services typically break and why. We bring structured blueprinting methodology, behavioral insight and cross-industry pattern recognition that most in-house teams build slowly and expensively. We also provide the external credibility that helps cross-functional alignment happen faster — which is usually the hardest part of any service redesign.
