Most journey maps die in PowerPoint. They are created in a workshop, celebrated in a presentation, and then quietly forgotten as the organisation returns to its operational reality. The problem is not the map itself — it is that the map was never connected to anything that moves.
This is the central challenge of journey mapping software: not finding a tool that draws pretty diagrams, but finding one that closes the gap between insight and action. The best journey mapping tools are not visualisation aids. They are operationalisation engines — systems that turn a static picture of the customer experience into a living structure that drives decisions, allocates ownership, and measures change over time.

B2B Journey Mapping: The Specific Challenges
B2B journey mapping strategies require a different approach from B2C, and most journey mapping software was designed with consumer experiences in mind. The differences are significant enough to affect both tool selection and map design.
