Assessment

CX Maturity Assessment

Describe how your organisation works in your own words — by typing, voice, or uploading a document — and an AI strategist scores your customer-experience maturity across 12 building blocks on a 10-level scale (Dismissive → Transcendent), with a report that pinpoints strengths, gaps and the highest-impact next moves.

AI-scored maturity across 12 building blocks

The CX Maturity Assessment turns a fuzzy question — 'how good are we at customer experience, really?' — into a clear, evidence-based picture. Instead of a generic survey with pre-set answers, you describe how your organisation actually works in your own words, and an AI strategist trained on the Renascence experience-management model reads what you wrote, scores you across twelve building blocks, and hands you a report that reads like a consultant's diagnostic: where you lead, where you are exposed, and the two or three moves that will move the needle fastest.

What you get
  • 12 building blocks · 23 core (or 60 full) statements
  • 10-level maturity scale, scored per block
  • Answer by text, voice or document upload
  • AI-written priorities and next steps

Free to use. Sign in to your Renascence portal to save results and revisit them anytime.

How it works

From your inputs to a result you can act on

1
Describe how you work

Answer in whatever way suits you — type freely, dictate by voice, or upload an existing document such as a strategy deck or CX playbook. There are no rigid multiple-choice cages; you explain your reality and the tool does the interpreting.

2
AI reads and scores

An AI strategist analyses your input against twelve building blocks of customer experience, placing each one on a ten-level maturity scale from Dismissive through to Transcendent. Every score is reasoned, not random.

3
Get your diagnostic report

You receive a block-by-block breakdown with an overall maturity level, written commentary on your strengths and gaps, and a prioritised list of the highest-impact next steps — the things worth doing first.

4
Save, share and re-run

Sign in to your Renascence portal to store the result, share it with your team, and reassess later so you can watch maturity climb over quarters rather than guessing at progress.

What it actually measures

Most maturity tools reduce customer experience to a single number or a colourful quadrant. That is comforting but rarely actionable, because 'we scored 6/10' tells you nothing about what to change on Monday. The CX Maturity Assessment instead breaks experience management into twelve building blocks — the distinct capabilities that separate organisations who talk about customer experience from those who consistently deliver it. These span how you understand customers, how you design and govern journeys, how you use insight and technology, how you empower employees, and how leadership holds it all together.

Each block is scored independently on a ten-level scale, because maturity is rarely uniform. It is completely normal to be advanced in listening to customers yet immature in acting on what you hear, or to have brilliant frontline people constrained by broken processes behind them. Scoring each capability separately surfaces exactly these imbalances, so your investment goes where the real constraint is — not where the loudest voice in the room assumes it is.

The approach behind it

The assessment is built on Renascence's experience-management methodology, refined across advisory work with organisations in banking, real estate, aviation, retail, healthcare and government. Rather than forcing you to translate your world into a checklist, it flips the interaction: you speak naturally about how things work, and the model does the difficult work of mapping your narrative onto a structured framework. This matters because the way people describe their organisation — what they mention first, what they omit, the language they use for customers — is itself rich diagnostic signal that a tick-box survey throws away.

Language models are well suited to this kind of reading. The tool weighs nuance, resolves contradictions between what you say you do and what you describe actually happening, and calibrates against patterns seen in mature organisations. The ten-level scale — Dismissive, Reactive, and onward to Transcendent — gives each block a named stage rather than an abstract percentage, so the result describes a recognisable state of being rather than a grade you have to interpret.

Crucially, the output is opinionated. A good diagnostic does not hedge; it tells you that block four is your weakest link and that fixing it unlocks three others. The report is written to be shared with a leadership team that has limited patience for ambiguity and needs a defensible starting point for where to focus.

How it helps you

The immediate value is orientation. Within minutes you go from a general sense that 'we could be better at CX' to a specific map of twelve capabilities, each with a level and a reason. That map ends circular internal debates, because it replaces opinion with a shared reference point everyone can react to.

The second value is prioritisation. Because the tool identifies the highest-impact moves rather than listing everything that is imperfect, it protects you from the classic trap of spreading a transformation budget thinly across a dozen initiatives that individually change nothing. You get a short list of moves that matter, sequenced by leverage.

The third value is momentum over time. Maturity is a journey, not an event, and the ability to save a baseline and reassess turns the assessment into a tracking instrument. Teams that reassess each quarter can point to blocks that moved from Reactive to Engaged, which is precisely the kind of concrete progress that keeps executive sponsorship — and funding — alive.

Who it is for

It is built for CX and experience leaders who need a credible baseline before designing a programme, for transformation teams who must justify where to invest, and for executives who want an honest read on a capability that is easy to overstate. Consultants and internal strategists use it to structure a discovery conversation; leadership teams use it to align on a starting point before committing budget.

You do not need data infrastructure, survey history or a research team to begin. If you can describe how your organisation works, you can get a serious diagnostic — which is exactly the point.

Questions

Frequently asked

How long does it take?

A focused run takes about ten to fifteen minutes. You can answer the twenty-three core statements for a fast read or work through the full sixty for a more thorough diagnostic.

Do I need data or metrics to use it?

No. The assessment reads how you describe your organisation, so you can complete it from knowledge and experience alone. Existing documents can be uploaded to enrich the input but are optional.

Is my input confidential?

Your responses are used to generate your assessment. Sign in to the portal to store results privately and control who on your team can see them.
