Marriott Brings Loyalty Into Corporate Booking Tools With Spotnana Deal

What happened

Marriott International has signed a partnership with travel technology company Spotnana to surface Bonvoy loyalty status and member benefits directly inside corporate booking tools. The integration addresses a persistent gap in business travel, where employees' loyalty tier, perks and eligible benefits have typically been invisible to the booking platforms used by corporate travel managers and travellers themselves.

Under the arrangement, Spotnana's booking infrastructure will pull Bonvoy status and benefit data into the corporate booking flow, meaning business travellers should be able to see and access their loyalty entitlements — such as room upgrades, breakfast or lounge access — at the point of booking rather than discovering them only at check-in or through separate loyalty channels.

Why it matters

Corporate travel has long operated as a separate system from consumer loyalty programmes, forcing travellers to manage two disconnected experiences: one optimised for expense policy and duty-of-care compliance, the other for personal rewards. By embedding Bonvoy status into the booking tool itself, Marriott and Spotnana are effectively closing that gap, letting loyalty data travel with the booking rather than sitting siloed in a separate app or account.

For business travellers, this reduces friction and the cognitive load of tracking benefits across systems. For corporate travel managers, it signals a shift toward booking platforms that can carry richer, personalised data — a capability that could extend beyond hotel loyalty to other traveller preferences, policy nudges or duty-of-care information embedded at the point of decision.

The Renascence take

The interesting part of this story isn't the loyalty perk itself — it's the plumbing. Most loyalty friction isn't caused by weak rewards; it's caused by rewards being invisible at the moment a decision gets made. Fixing that moment is a bigger lever than adding new benefits.

Loyalty programmes fail less often because the rewards are unattractive and more often because the reward is disconnected from the decision moment — a traveller booking through a corporate tool has no visual or behavioral cue that status even exists. What Marriott and Spotnana are really doing is redesigning a decision environment, not a rewards tier. The lesson for any experience leader: audit where your best benefits become invisible because they live in a different system than the one your customer is actually using to choose — and fix the interface before you fix the incentive.
