Learning Objective

Senior teams forge a coherent customer-experience strategy under simulated high-stakes pressure, balancing competing priorities, constraints and stakeholders.

How to Play

Setup

  • Brief teams on a realistic company scenario: market position, budget, customer data and a looming threat.
  • Provide constraint cards (budget cuts, competitor moves, regulatory shifts) the facilitators inject mid-game.
  • Give each team a strategy canvas covering vision, priorities, investments and metrics.

Rules of play

  • Teams build a CX strategy within a fixed time box, defending every trade-off they make.
  • Facilitators inject disruptions that force teams to re-prioritise on the fly.
  • Each team presents to a 'board' that pressure-tests assumptions and feasibility.
  • Score on coherence and resilience under disruption, not on ambition alone.

Debrief

  • Which trade-offs were hardest, and which did you defer rather than decide?
  • How did your strategy hold up when constraints changed?
  • What does this reveal about your real organisation's ability to adapt?

CX Principle Reinforced

CX strategy is the art of saying no: every organisation has finite budget and attention, and a strategy that tries to win everywhere wins nowhere.

Simulating disruption exposes whether a strategy is genuinely robust or merely a wish-list, training senior leaders to build plans that survive contact with reality.
