IVR Testing: Adactin and Cyara Partner on AI Contact Centre QA

Adactin and Cyara have formalised a partnership to deliver continuous, AI-driven IVR testing for contact centres, shifting quality assurance from a launch activity to an ongoing operational function.

What happened

Australian software testing specialist Adactin has entered a formal partnership with customer experience assurance platform Cyara to bring automated, AI-driven testing to interactive voice response (IVR) systems in contact centres. The collaboration is designed to make quality assurance a continuous, live-environment discipline rather than a one-off exercise conducted before a system goes live.

Under the arrangement, Adactin will deploy Cyara's testing and monitoring capabilities as part of its contact centre service offering. The combined solution targets the growing complexity of AI-augmented voice channels, where conversational flows, intent recognition and dynamic routing make traditional manual testing increasingly impractical and prone to gaps.

Why it matters

IVR systems sit at one of the most behaviorally sensitive touchpoints in any service journey. Customers who encounter a broken menu, a misrouted call or a failed speech-recognition prompt experience a sharp spike in effort — and effort, as decades of behavioral research confirm, is among the strongest predictors of churn and complaint escalation. When AI layers are added to these systems, the failure modes multiply: a model retrained on new data can silently degrade a previously reliable flow without any visible alert to operations teams.

The shift from pre-launch testing to continuous assurance reflects a broader maturation in how service organisations think about quality. Rather than treating a contact centre IVR as a fixed asset that is validated once and then left to run, the Adactin–Cyara model treats it as a living system that requires ongoing monitoring — much as a digital product team would instrument a mobile app. For CX leaders, this points to a wider principle: in AI-mediated service environments, assurance is not a project phase but an operational function.

The Renascence take

Most organisations still budget for IVR testing as a launch cost rather than a running cost. That accounting assumption is increasingly dangerous in an era where AI models are retrained, prompts are updated and telephony configurations change on short cycles — often without the CX team being in the loop.

The real risk in AI-powered voice channels is not the dramatic failure anyone would notice — it is the silent degradation that erodes trust call by call before it surfaces in CSAT data. Continuous automated testing closes that lag. What most operators miss is that this is fundamentally a behavioral economics problem: customers do not benchmark their frustration against your last outage; they benchmark it against the last time the system worked effortlessly. Operators serious about voice-channel experience should treat assurance tooling as infrastructure, not overhead — and ensure that CX teams, not just QA engineers, have visibility into the monitoring dashboards.
